Over the next two years, the Wyoming Department of Transportation and contractor Croell Inc. will rehabilitate 3.34 miles of the I-25/I-90 bypass and U.S. 16/87 route in downtown Buffalo. The work will go section by section, beginning this summer with Main Street from the I-25 interchange north to Parmalee Street, from Hart Street north to the I-90 interchange, and a portion of Rock Creek Road north of that intersection. The Wyoming Department of Transportation expects this portion to be done this year. The second portion, to be done in 2025, will replace the Cemetery Creek culvert south of Parmalee Street and repair and resurface Main Street from Parmalee north through downtown to Hart Street.

All aspects of the project will include resurfacing the existing roadway surfaces, upgrading ADA ramps and crosswalks and replacing isolated sidewalks, curb and gutter. Much of the work will not result in closed roads. Instead, lane closures with head-to-head traffic, reduced speeds and flagging operations will control traffic.
